Hotel Hygge Frequently Asked Questions

Hotel Hygge uses contactless self-check-in. Complete the online registration sent to the phone number and/or email address on your reservation. You will need a smartphone, computer or tablet with Wi-Fi or cell service, a valid government-issued ID in the registered guest's name, and a credit or debit card in the same name. After registration is complete and your room is ready, Hotel Hygge will send your self-check-in information. For help, call 805-350-7482.

The registration link is sent by text and/or email at approximately 11:00 a.m. Pacific Time on the day before your scheduled arrival. If you booked through a third-party provider, contact Hotel Hygge before arrival to confirm that the property has your correct phone number and email address. If you do not receive the link, call 805-350-7482.

Your room access code is included in the self-check-in letter sent after online registration is complete and your room is ready on the day of arrival. Access codes are provided only in reservation-specific guest communications and are never published on the website. If you need help, call 805-350-7482.

Check-in begins at 3:00 p.m. Checkout is by 11:00 a.m. on the day of departure.

Under the standard cancellation policy, the deposit is refundable less a $20 processing fee when the reservation is canceled at least 72 hours before the scheduled 3:00 p.m. check-in. Cancellations received with less than 72 hours' notice forfeit the deposit. Third-party bookings, promotional rates and group reservations may have different policies; the terms provided with the reservation apply.

Yes. A $50 authorization hold is placed at check-in on the card provided during registration. Hotel Hygge releases the hold after the checkout date, but the time required for the funds to become available depends on your bank.

Complimentary onsite parking for standard-sized vehicles is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Parking is limited to one vehicle per guest room. Oversized vehicles may require alternative offsite parking, and vehicle maintenance is not permitted onsite.

Hotel Hygge does not currently offer ADA-designated accommodations. Guests with accessibility-related questions should call 805-350-7482 before booking so the property team can discuss the available property features and whether the hotel can meet their needs.

The Ice Vending Machine Room is open 24 hours a day to registered guests. It includes a shared microwave, iron, ironing board and ice machine. Water, coffee pods, creamer and extra towels are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The room access code is included in the self-check-in letter and is not published online.

Each guest room includes a beverage refrigerator. Guest rooms do not have microwaves; a shared microwave is available in the Ice Vending Machine Room.

Yes. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available to Hotel Hygge guests. Network and login details are included in the self-check-in letter and are not published online.

No. Housekeeping service is not provided during a guest's stay. Trash receptacles are located throughout the property, and water, coffee pods, creamer and extra towels are available in the Ice Vending Machine Room on a first-come, first-served basis.

Hotel Hygge has a communal courtyard and outdoor games, including cornhole, bocce ball and horseshoes. Registered guests may also use select amenities at nearby Sideways Inn.

Yes. Registered Hotel Hygge guests may use select amenities at Sideways Inn, including the pool, hot tub, fitness center and lounge. The pool is open from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The lounge is open from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 3:00 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday. Guests must be at least 18 to use the fitness center and at least 21 to enter the lounge. Hours, availability and capacity may change; review your guest communications or contact Hotel Hygge for current access instructions.

Yes. Well-behaved dogs are welcome and must be registered with Hotel Hygge before check-in. Each room may have up to two domestic dogs weighing 50 pounds or less per dog. A one-time, nonrefundable $50 pet cleaning fee applies. Dogs must remain on a leash no longer than 6 feet, stay under their owner's care and never be left unattended. Guests must clean up and properly dispose of pet waste. Outside the assigned pet-friendly guest room, dogs are not permitted inside other buildings or amenity areas. Cats, exotic pets and noisy, vicious or unruly animals are not allowed. Guests should be able to provide proof of current vaccinations. Guests who cannot keep a dog under control may be required to remove the animal from the property.

Yes. Service animals individually trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability are handled separately from the pet policy and are exempt from the pet fee. Guests are responsible for damage caused by a service animal. Contact Hotel Hygge with questions about a specific accommodation need.

Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. daily. Activities in public spaces, including picnic tables, cornhole, bocce ball, the horseshoe pit and the parking lot, must end at 10:00 p.m. A $150 fee may apply for a quiet-hours violation. Repeat offenders may be required to leave without a refund.
